Astana Economic Forum will begin its work on May 25. IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti, the director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University and one of the three most influential economists in the world by the British magazine The Economist - Jeffrey Sachs were declared among the VIP-speakers of the AEF 2016.
The Forum will also be attended by Professor of Economics at MIT, author of the international bestseller "why are some nations rich and others poor" Daron Acemoglu, a former economic adviser to US President Ronald Reagan and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher Arthur Laffer, and author of a new Chinese best-seller, Currency Wars,Song Hongbing.
It should be reminded that the AEF 2016 will be held on the theme "The New Economic Reality: diversification, innovation and knowledge-based economy." The main trends and challenges of the global economy, as well as issues of long-term economic growth in the new economic reality will be discussed during the event.
