History

Born July 6, 1940. In 1967, he graduated from the Highest Technical Educational Institution at the Karaganda Metallurgic Factory. He is a Doctor in Economics, Academician of the National Academy of the RK, International Academy of Engineering, Russian Federation Academy of Social Sciences, Honorable Professor of the Al-Farabi Kazakh State National University, Honorable Member of the Academy of Science of the Republic of Belarus, Honorable Professor of the Lomonossov Moscow State University. In 1960-1969, he worked at the Karaganda Metallurgical Combinat. In 1969-1973, he was involved in the Party and Komsomol work in Temirtau of the Karaganda region. In 1973-1977, he was a secretary of the party committee at the Karaganda Metallurgic Factory. In 1977-1979, he served as secretary of the Regional Committee of the Party in Karaganda. From 1979 through 1984, he served as Secretary of the Committee of the Communist Party of the RK. From 1984 through 1989, he was a Chairman of the Ministers Council of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1989-1991, he served as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan. From February to April 1990, he concurrently worked as Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. At the first general elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1991 N.A. Nazarbayev received 98,7 percent of votes. On April, 29, 1995, through a popular referendum, the term of office of the President has been extended until 2000. In the elections of 1999, 2005 and 2011 was re-elected as the President of the Republic of of Kazakhstan.

Doctor of Law, professor. Date and place of birth: May 13, 1965 in Karatau, Zhambyl region. Bakhytzhan Zh. Abdraim graduated from S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University on the specialty of Law (1990), as well as from Turan University on the specialty of Finance and Credit (1997). He acquired postgraduate degree at S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University (1992) and Doctor’s degree at the State and Law Institute of the Russian Science Academy (2001). He was conferred the title of “Honorary Judge of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and awarded an honorary judicial community symbol “Ush Bi” and an honorary symbol “Sot zhuyesinin kurmetti kyzmetkeri”. B. Abdraim was granted gratitude of the Chairman of the RK Supreme Court, the Chairman of the RF Supreme Arbitrage Court, and the International Union of Lawyers. He was also awarded the order “Kurmet”, anniversary medals “10th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “10th anniversary of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

In 1994-1995 was a consultant on social protection issues with the Kazakhstan’s Supreme Council; In 1995 - 2003 worked in the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection holding positions of vice chief of department, chief of department of pension plans, Vice Director of Department of Human Services, Director of Department of Human Services. From March 2003 to December 2005 served as Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection. From December 2005 to October 2006 was Chairman of the Board of the State Annuity Insurance Company. From October 2006 to October 2007 served as Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection. From October 2007 to January 2008 was Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. From January 2008 to March 2009 was advisor to President of Kazakhstan and chaired the National Committee for Women’s Issues and Demography under the directorship of President. In March 2009 was appointed Minister of Labor and Social Protection.

Born September, 11, 1962 in Kyzylorda. Labor activity has begun to work at the Guryev machine-building factory of Petrovsky. In 1981 has arrived in KazGU of S.Kirov on a specialty "political economy". Since 1986 worked as the teacher at the Guryev teacher training college. In 1989 has arrived in internal postgraduate study of the St.-Petersburg state university upon termination of which has protected in the same place the master's thesis. Since 1993 till June, 1st 2005 worked at the Kazakh national pedagogical university of Abaj. Since 2005 – rector KazEu of T.Ryskulov. In 1998 has been awarded by the Certificate of honor of the Minister of Education and Science of Republic Kazakhstan. In 2003 it is awarded by a sign «Honourable educator of Republic Kazakhstan». He is the assistant to the editor-in-chief of scientifically-analytical magazine EvrAzEs «Problem of modern economy» (it is published in St.-Petersburg). The Associate editor of "News of National Academy of Sciences». The active participant of various international educational and scientific programs, is a deputy head of the fundamental scientific program on reforming of the Kazakhstan formation, a member of educational-methodical association Treasury of Al-Farabi. Within the limits of a government program "Cultural heritage" is the associate editor of the edition «Economic heritage».

2007 – by Presidential Edict appointed to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation. 2008 – 2010 - 1-st Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Dr. Azour holds a post-graduate degree (DEA) in International Economic and Finance and a Master's in Applied Economics from Dauphine University, Paris, France. Ph.D. in International Finance from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris in France. Dr. Azour has a long teaching experience at the American University of Beirut.

In 2006–2008 chaired the G8-BMENA Ministerial Group, which regroups Ministers of Finance and Governors of Central Banks of the G8 and MENAcountries. Dr. Azour also occupied senior positions in the government (senior advisor to the Minister of Finance), international organizations (project director of the UNDP/World Bank at theMinistry of Finance), and the private sector, (including McKinsey and Cie, Booz Allen Hamilton, Compagnie de Saint-Gobain and Caisse des dépôts et consignations), He also consulted for the International Monetary Fund's Fiscal Affairs Department. Author of several books and articles on economic and financial issues.  

Aycı graduated from the Ankara-based Bilkent University’s department of political science and public administration in 1994. He later continued his academic career as a researcher at the University of Leeds in the UK. He received his master’s degree in international relations at the İstanbul-based Marmara University in 1997. He previously worked at Kurtsan İlaçları A.Ş., the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Universal Dış Ticaret A.Ş. and became general manager of Başak Sigorta, one of Turkey’s leading insurance companies. He left his post at Başak Sigorta A.Ş. and started working at another leading insurance company, Güneş Sigorta, until his appointment to ISPAT. During his career, Aycı also served as chairman or board member of various organizations, including the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK).

Kuanysh Aytahanov is a member of the Senate of the Parliament, Republic of Kazakhstan, from August 2005. Graduated from the Moscow Veterinary Academy, Alma-Ata Higher Party School.Analyst.Doctor of Economics.Worked as Akim of Arys, Suzak, Sairam and Otrar regions of South Kazakhstan region.Kuanysh Aytahanov was a member of the Committee for Economic and Regional Policy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, since December 2008 has served as Secretary of the Committee on Agriculture and Environmental matters, Member of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States, a member of Constant Committee on State Regulation of Economy of the Common Economic Council Parliamentary Group, member of the group co-operation with the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, House of Councillors of Japan, the Islamic Republic, Kingdom of Spain, Republic of France.He was awarded the “Order of Honour","Kurmet”, “Parasat”, five medals. Aytahanov Kuanysh contributed greatly to the development and prosperity of Kazakhstan.

He is the Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) under the Foundation of the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan since July 7, 2010.

Born May 25, 1976 in Almaty, kazakh. In 1996, he was graduated with honors from the Kazakh State Academy of Management by specialty economist (specialization – organization of banking system). Since 1996 to 2007 had taken part in courses and seminars which were hold by international organizations and institutes of different countries as USA, Japan, South Korea, Austria, Turkey and others. Since November of 1995 to November of 1996 he worked as a senior economist on Central-Asian stock market. Since November 1996 to august 2007 he worked at the Department of research and statistic of the National Bank of Kazakhstan on different positions. Since July 2003 to august 2007 he worked as a director of the Department of research and statistic. On August 28, 2007 he was appointed as the deputy Governor oh the National Bank of Kazakhstan by decree of the President of Republic of Kazakhstan. Government awards:Breastplate «Honored Employee of the National Bank of Kazakhstan» (2006).

S. Akkaya received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Economics at the Middle East Technical University in Turkey, Ph.D. in Economics at the Bilkent University, Turkey.

In 1989-1994 worked at the Statistical, Economic Social Research & Training Center, Organization of Islamic Countries. Since 1994 was ResearchEconomist of World Bank Country Office in Turkey, Country Economist and Senior Country Economist at the World Bank, Washington, D.C., USA. Her concentration was Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey and Kyrgyz Republic’s country policy. Later she represented the World Bank in Lebanon Regional Office, covered the West Bank and Gaza Program.

From 2006 she is the World Bank Country Manager for Kazakhstan.

Mr. Sultan Bin Nasser Al Suwaidi is a UAE national, born in Abu Dhabi in 1953. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Finance, and started his career at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) in 1978.

In 1982, Mr. Al Suwaidi moved to Abu Dhabi Investment Company (ADIC), where he served as General manager of the Company. His mandate was to restructure the Company and stream-line its operations.

In early 1984, Mr. Al Suwaidi was nominated for the position of General manager of Gulf International Bank (Bahrain), and his nomination was accepted by the 7 Gulf countries shareholders. At GIB Mr. Al Suwaidi redirected the strategy of the Bank towards doing more business within the region.

In late 1985, Mr. Al Suwaidi was offered the position of Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank.

He joined Central bank of the UAE as Governor on 18th Dec. 1991.

Aumann's greatest contribution was in the realm of repeated games, which are situations in which players encounter the same situation over and over again.

Scientific researches of Yisrael Robert John Aumann were marked by a great number of honorable awards. In 1974 – Honorable member of the American Academy of Science and Art; in 1985-1995 – Member of the National Academy of Science, USA; member of Israel Academy of Science; correspondent-member of the British Academy. Has several Prizes: Harvey Prize in Science and Technology, Israel prize for Economics, Erwin Plein Nemmers Prize in Economics, Emet Prize for Economics.

In 2005 he shared the 2005 economics prize with Thomas Schelling of the USA for “having enhanced our understanding of conflict and cooperation through game-theory analysis”.

Dr. Baigarin took his undergraduate studies in engineering and physics at Moscow Physical and Technician Institute. He gained Ph.D. in physics and mathematics in 1989 at I.V.Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy in Moscow. He has more than 60 scientific publications.

Dr. Baigarin started his working career in 1975 at I.V. Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow. Since 1990 he was the Head of Laboratory of the Institute. Dr. Baigarin was the associate of the International Program Leadership on Environmental and Development (LEAD) in 1993-1994. In the latest years he has worked as a consultant to the Global Environment Division of Rockefeller Foundation on energy efficiency and renewable energy project in the CIS, to the UNDP and the Word Bank on Renewable Energy in Central Asian countries. In 1997 he jointly with ECN (Netherlands) finalized Market Development Study for Wind Energy in Kazakhstan.

Since 1999 negotiator on RK status on UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol. In 2008 Dr. Baigarin was appointed as the Consultant of the Strategic Development and Analysis Centre of the President Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Dr. Balco isinternationally known and recognized tax expert and has over 10 years experience in both private and public sectors in different countries and continents. He holds 3 law degrees - Magister in Law Degree, Postgraduate LL.M. Degree in International Tax Law and Doctor in Law degree from International Public Law. His private sector experience was with Deloitte, where he also qualified as ACCA, first as a member and since 2009 already Fellow of ACCA. He came to Almaty back in late 2006, when he joined Tax & Legal Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Prior to coming to Kazakhstan he workedas Senior Research Associate at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation in Amsterdam. He joined KIMEP in 2007 in the role of Adjunct Associate Professor. His public sector experience was with the Ministries of Finance in Chile and Czech Republic, as well as European Commission and until now is actively involved in the tax policy work with the UN and other international bodies. Patrick Gray was born in 1947, graduated from Oxford University and London School of Economics. He is a Manager of CNCP Program and Head of Moscow representative office HTSPE. In the 80's and 90's, he took an active part in creating the British system to promote innovation as a parliamentary adviser on industrial strategy, has been Chief Economist at the Industrial Council of the West Midland region (Venture Fund, which supports the development of small and medium high-tech business in the center region of England), was a member of the Board of the network to develop strategies for local economic development and was Chairman of the other network of local government regions interested in the development of the automotive industry. Patrick was a member of the Advisory Board of Oxford Science Park, and many times acted as an expert in the evaluation of an innovative program that is included in the European Framework Programme. For the first time, Patrick began working in Kazakhstan in 2000, and since 2004 has been regularly visiting Astana, Almaty and Semei with working visits within CNCP program, with the aim of working sessions, evaluation, and as an invited speaker at various conferences.

Herman Gref was born in the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic (now Kazakhstan) into a family of ethnic German deportees who were exiled there in 1941. After fulfilling two years of military service, he studied law at Omsk State University in Siberia from 1985 to 1990.

He then moved to Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) and taught law at Leningrad University until completing his post-graduate degree in 1993. In 1992 – 1998 Gref worked on several positions at the Saint Petersburg City Administration.

In August 1998, Herman Gref was appointed First Deputy Minister of State Property of the Russian Federation, and was a member of its board until 2000. He was also appointed to the board of the Federal Commission for the Securities Market of the Russian Federation and the board of state-owned Svyazinvest and Gazprom in 1999.

Mr. Qaiser is a founding member of the Bank of England working party on Islamic mortgages, founding Member UK technical group at Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments for Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) London.  And he co-authored a book on Islamic retail Banking & Finance – global challenges published by Euro-money UK.

Keba Keinde was recently awarded the “Builders of the African Economy”prize held in Cote d’Ivoire on 4th February 2010, for his achievements over the last few years.

Born December 1, 1943 in Norway. He is a co-recipient of the 2004 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics (shared with Edward C. Prescott), "for their contributions to dynamic macroeconomics: the time consistency of economic policy and the driving forces behind business cycles".
With a freshly awakened interest in theoretical economics, Kydland earned a B.S. from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) in 1968 and a Ph.D. in economics from Carnegie Mellon in 1973. 
He joined the faculty of Carnegie Mellon University in 1977, where he served as a Professor of Economics until 2004, when he became a faculty member of the University of California, Santa Barbara and founded the Laboratory for Aggregate Economics and Finance (LAEF) at this same institution. He is a Research Associate for the Federal Reserve Banks of Dallas, Cleveland and St. Louis, and a Senior Research Fellow at the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Suk Joon Kim has been appointed the President of Science & Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) since August 2008. He has been a member of National Assembly of the Republic of Korea from 2004 to 2008 contributing to the development of policies through working in the Science, Technology, Information and Telecommunications Committee. In 2004, he served as President of Korean Association for Public Administration and until March 2002 he was the executive member of the Citizen’s Coalition for Economic Justice. Quiroga graduated summa cum laude in Industrial Engineering at the College Station of Texas A&M University and obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Edward’s in Austin Texas. Upon completing his studies, Mr. Quiroga worked in the private sector for IBM, in Austin, Texas. In 1988 he returned to Bolivia where he worked for Mintec, a Bolivian mining company. He later became Vice-president of Projects and Investment at the Merchant Bank of Bolivia. Quiroga began his political career when he joined the Acción Democrática Nacionalista (ADN) party. In 1989 he became Under-Secretary of Public Investment and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Planning and in 1992 he became Minister of Finance.  Thereafter he was named governor of the World Bank, IFC and the IMF, as well as of the Andean Development Corporation (CAF). In 1998, at age 37, he was elected Vice President of Bolivia under President Hugo Banzer, making him the youngest Vice President in the history of Bolivia. He succeeded Banzer as President in 2001, serving until August 2002.

Beginning in 2008, she was a partner company, established in Vancouver, Canada, and in February 2010 returned to Georgia, where he became head of the Coalition for Justice"non-governmental organization that worked to protect the rights of internally displaced persons. July 2, 2010 Vera Kobalia was appointed to the post of Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

She previously worked as a staff member at the International Monetary Fund where she focused on the design and monitoring of stabilization programs, focusing particularly on Latin America. Ms. Xafa also served as chief economic advisor under Prime Minister Constantin Mitsotakis in Athens, Greece from 1991 to 1993. Following her service to the Prime Minister, Ms. Xafa worked at Salomon Brothers in London, initially as an emerging markets strategist and subsequently as an Athens based market analyst covering Greek and global economic prospects. Ms. Xafa has also served as an adviser to the management of Piraeus Bank and was a director on the board of S&B Industrial Minerals, a public international group of companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange that is primarily involved in the mining, processing and trade of industrial materials and ores.

On 19 December 2008, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced the appointment of Jan Kubis of Slovakia as the new Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), Under Secretary-General of the United Nations. He has outstanding qualifications and numerous accomplishments in his own country and internationally, in the area of diplomacy, foreign security policy, as well as international economic relations. He served as Minister for Foreign Affairs of Slovakia from 2006 to January 2009, as Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, from 2007 to 2008, and as Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), from 1999 to 2005.  Among his previous functions, he was the European Union's Special Representative for Central Asia with the office in Brussels from 2005 to 2006. Prior to Niton Capital, where he raised financing for many clients, including trade finance facilities (over USD 500 million), refinery working capital (USD 250 million) and created an investment fund, Yves was at Litasco (Lukoil).  He was responsible of the shipping strategy, the evaluation of green field projects and the acquisition of Oil & Gas assets.
Before joining Lukoil, he worked at Forus Services where he was responsible to advice, structure, negotiate and implement financing in the range of USD 100 million to 1’500 million related to the acquisition of new commercial aircrafts (Boeing & Illyushin 96 M/T) and airline related industry, industrial projects development and barter operations in Russia.
As Managing Director of International Fintrade Services in Singapore, he structured and raised funding for several large industrial groups based in South East Asia.

As the leader of Polish Employers he worked as the President of BIAC Poland - The Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD. Attended the Mass In 1961, he went on to staff the International Monetary Fund. Achusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he obtained PhD in Economics in 1956.Professor of economics at Columbia University. Well known as creator of theory of optimum currency areas. He obtained the deserved recognition for the contribution to economic development. Mundell was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship in 1971 and the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics in 1999. In 2002 he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada.In 1992, Mundell received the Docteur Honoris Causa from the University of Paris. Mundell's honorary professorships and fellowships were from Brookings Institution, the University of Chicago, the University of Southern California, McGill University, the University of Pennsylvania, the Bologna Center and Renmin University of China. He became a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1998. In June 2005 he was awarded the Global Economics Prize World Economics Institute in Kiel, Germany.

He joined Ashmore in January 2008 to head the expansion of Ashmore's public sector franchise focusing on new investment products for financial public sector institutions and international monetary system issues. After that he taught at Massachusetts Institute of Technologyfrom 1977–1984 and from 1985-2000 at Harvard University, where he was the Louis Berkman Professor of Economics. In 2000, he moved to the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey.
Maskin has worked in diverse areas of economic theory, such as game theory, the economics of incentives, and contract theory. He is particularly well known for his papers on mechanism design/implementation theory and dynamic games. 
In 2007, Maskin shared the Nobel Prize in Economics along with Leonid Hurwiczand Roger Myerson “for having laid the foundations of mechanism design theory”.
Eric Maskin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Econometric Society, and the European Economic Association, and a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy. Stepan Mesich was born December 24, 1934. Before his ten-year presidency, he held the posts of: Prime Minister of Croatia, President of the Croatian Parliament, Mayor of Orahovica, the final president ofYugoslavia, Secretary General ofNon-Aligned Movement, andjudgein Našice city. Mesich was a deputy in theCroatian Parliamentin  1960s, and then in 1990 he joined to theCroatian Democratic Union (CDU), and was named thePrime Ministerafter CDU won in the elections. He was elected as the Croatian member of theYugoslav Federal Presidencywhere he served initially as Vice President and then in 1991 as the lastPresident of Yugoslavia. After Yugoslavia disintegrated, Mesich served asPresident of the Croatian Parliament from 1992 to 1994, when he left the CDU. With several other members of parliament, he formed a new party - Croatian Independent Democrats (CID). In 1997 the majority of CID members, including Mesich, merged into theCroatian People's Party(CPP). AfterFranjo Tuđman died in December 1999, he was elected in two rounds to be the President of the Republic of Croatia in February 2000. He was re-elected in January 2005 for a second term.

James Mirrlees worked a lot at the different Universities of the country and cooperated with the state authorities, consulting specialists from different countries.

In November 2009, Tim Moody was appointed Managing Director, Business Development for Rio Tinto and based in London. This is a corporate role including appraisal and advice on business development opportunities, acquisitions and growth strategy. Tim was a Managing Director for Rio Tinto’s Exploration from 2005 to 2009, which included responsibilities for Rio Tinto’s mineral exploration and associated business development activities in the Asia Region (principally the Middle East, China and countries of the former Soviet Union). His experience spans more than 20 years in the mining industry, including Australia, Europe, Africa, South America and Asia. Tim has a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of New England in Australia and is a Fellow of the Society of Exploration Geologists.

After university he served in the Austrian Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry dealing with Foreign Trade and European Integration, later in the Cabinet of the Secretary of State. He also served in the Cabinet of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry dealing especially with agricultural trade matters. In the Austrian National Bank he was Special Adviser to the Board for European Integration – responsible for the negotiations with the EU concerning liberalisation of capital movements and financial services in the European Economic Area and EU membership negotiations, preparations of EMS and ERM membership. After EU membership, in the run up to EMU he served as Economic Adviser (especially for budgetary and financial markets matters) in the Cabinet of three Ministers of Finance. He was member of EFTA e.g. EFTA Economic Committee and EU Committees e.g. Economic Policy Committee and of supervisory boards e.g. Austrian Stock Exchange (Wiener Börse AG) and is member of Eurosystem/ESCB Committees and Groups e.g. International Relations Committee. He is the President of the sports club of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank. He has published extensively on European Integration, Monetary Matters, Trade and Agriculture. Also Mr. Nauschnigg lectures at the University of Linz.

Albina Nikkonen has served as the Executive Director of RVCA since 1998, promoting the establishment and development of the venture capital industry in Russia. She is an organizer of the first Russian “Fund-of-Funds” Venture Capital Innovation Fund (VIF) which was established in 2000 under the Government Decree. The main goal of VIF has been to promote venture funds with national capital in Russia. 
In 2006 Albina Nikkonen served as a member of the work group for preparing the Russian Venture Company (RVC), chairman of the organizing committee for The Russian Venture Fair (2000) and Russian Venture Forum (2005). In 2005, under the direction of Albina Nikkonen, regional coaching-centers for entrepreneurs were organized in Russia with a goal to promote venture businesses. RVCA realizes 5-6 Regional Venture Fairs a year. Albina Nikkonen initiated the distribution of the Entrepreneurship Education Course, prepared by EVCA: “Private Equity and Venture Capital” and developed for study in Europe universities.

Born June 13, 1928. After the school, Nash attended the Carnegie Institute of Technology, where he became interested in the theory of “problem of negotiations”, and then he studied in Princeton University, where he heard about the theory of games for the first time.  
At the age of 21, he wrote his dissertation on the theory of games, the mathematics of competition, which known as “Nash Equilibrium” later brought the Nobel Prize.
In 1987, Nash was awarded the John von Neumann Theory Prize for his discovery of non-cooperative equilibrium. In 1994, he received the Nobel Prize in Economic Science for “his analysis of equilibria in the theory of non-cooperative games”, which he shared with Reinhard Selten and John Harsanyi.
Today he is working on new opportunities of computer usage. Princeton gave him the appropriate research position. Nash has developed work on the role of money in society.

He worked in Main Controlling Review Administration of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic on the following positions: senior comptroller, Chief comptroller, Head of the Organizational Controlling Department, Deputy Head of the Administration. From October 1992 to February 1996 he worked as a Head of Administration of the State Committee on Financial Control of the RK. Dr. Renat Perelet is a research leader at the Institute for Systems Analysis, Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, a member of the RF State Duma Supreme Environmental Council. He is an expert in environmental and sustainable development economics and management and has worked for e.g. the Brundtland Commission, World Bank, OECD, European Union, UNDP, UNEP, UN ECE, NATO. Participated in the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg (2002). In particular, as a UNDP expert he has worked in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and contributed as author to UNEP’s recent Global Environment Outlook report (GEO-4) and the UNDP Human Development Report for 2007-2008. Since 2006, he has been an expert of the Working Group on development of national sustainable development policy under Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister.

Born in 1949 in Jordan. Taleb Rifai was the Assistant Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO). From 1999 to 2003, he served in several ministerial portfolios in the Government of Jordan, as Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of Jordan and Minister of Information. In 2001, his portfolio was expanded to include the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquity.
From 1993 to 1997, Taleb Rifai was actively involved in policy making and developing trade and investment strategies, initially in his capacity as Director of Jordan’s Economic Mission to Washington DC promoting trade, investment and economic relations between Jordan and the USA.  In 1995 he became the Director General of the newly established Investment Promotion Corporation (IPC), responsible for developing and implementing policies aiming at attracting Foreign Direct Investment into Jordan. Robert Sanders is British and graduated from Leicester University in 1988 with a degree in French, Information Technology and Economics. He worked for Pechiney UK Ltd before moving to different sales and marketing roles for a variety of international companies in the food retail sector including Glon SA and WT Foods Ltd, where he concentrated on the fields of exports and business development. In 2000, Robert set up his own consultancy business in Toulouse to work on international marketing and project management assignments for a number of public and private clients.
He joined EBN (The European Business and Innovation Centre Network) full time in March 2006 as Head of International Projects. Robert now manages all aspects of the EBN project portfolio, from bid proposal writing to delivery of final outputs. The projects are mainly SME-focused, in areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, access to finance and business incubation. This portfolio currently consists of 14 projects, including the coordination role for EC and World Bank funded projects. Robert develops strategic partnerships with global organisations to enhance EBN membership. He also has a lobbying role with EU institutions and other organisations, including submitting policy recommendations reflecting the interests of the EBN network.

From 1963 to 1968, he studied in the Department of Aircraft at Northwestern Polytechnical University. After graduation in July 1968, he started work in Xi'an Aircraft Industry Company and gradually worked his way up to the post of Executive Deputy General Manager and Acting General Manager. In March 1992, he became General Manager of Xi'an Aircraft Industry Company. From January 1997 to May 1998, he served as Deputy General Manager of China Aviation Industry Corporation. He was later appointed as Deputy Head of the State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision in May 1998. In April, 2001, he took up the office of Deputy Head of the General Administration of Quality Supervision and Quarantine and served his term until October 2005. Since July 2006, he has been working as Senior Vice Chairman as well as Director General of the Industrial Innovation Work Committee in China Federation of Industrial Economics

Born in 1939 in Russia. He began his career as an assistant in 1978 and in 1980 became the first Deputy of the Chairman of the regional executive committee. In 1981 he became the secretary of the Turgai region committee party of the North Kazakhstan region. He is an experienced adviser to the Chairman of the Interstate and the EurAsEC Customs Union (since 1994), an expert in the Government of Russia (1996-1998), and consultant to the Committee on the Economy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia (1999). Von Furstenberg served for a year as an assistant professor of economics at Cornell, followed by another stint at Brookings, this time as an Economic Policy Fellow assigned to the Program Evaluation Section of theDepartment of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Ernani Hickmann is Professor of Economics at the Graduate School of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro and Coordinator of the MBA Program and Business Consulting in South Brazil. Almaz Sharman has experience in the fields of biomedical research, clinical research, and in public health. After graduation he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Immunobiology Vaccine Center of the University of Alabama at Birmingham until 1994. 
From 1997 until 2004, Dr. Sharman was involved in university teaching as an associate in the Department of International Health at The Johns Hopkins University. 
In 2001 Almaz Sharman joined US Agency for International Development (USAID) Regional Mission for Central Asia as the Infectious Disease Advisor and later as USAID Country Office Coordinator for Kazakhstan. 
In May 2008 Dr. Sharman was appointed CEO of the National Medical Holding. 

Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Utah. She has given expert testimony before the Joint Economic Committee, Senate Banking, Senate Foreign Relations, House Banking, and House Foreign Affairs committees. She is a former senior research fellow at the Hoover Institution (Stanford University) and was professor of international finance at DUXX Graduate School of Business in Monterrey, Mexico. She was a staff economist for the National Commission on Economic Growth and Tax Reform chaired by Jack Kemp (1995-96) and has served on the boards of Hilton Hotels and Atlantic Coast Airlines. In January 2010 she was named Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Endowment for Democracy; she is the Board's regional expert on Russia, Ukraine and Belarus and also serves on the Budget & Audit Committee.

Dr. Schenz is a graduate of the University of Technology in Vienna. Dr. Schenz was appointed the official Capital Markets representative of the Austrian Government in 2002, after retiring as Chairman of the management board and CEO of OMV, Austria’s largest corporation.
Currently Dr. Schenz serves as the Vice President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, a member of the Presidency of the Federation of Austrian Industry, and as the President of the Austrian chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. Previously worked as an assistant at the University and at the Ludwig Boltzman Institute.

Alexander Shcheulinwas graduated from the Physics and Technology Faculty of Kharkov State University in 1972. From 1972 until 2000 he worked at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
He defended his thesis Dynamics of electron-ion ring beam in 1988.
During the years 1991-1993 he was co-led the elaboration of Russia's first program for the development of Science Cities "Technopolis Dubna".
He has been working with problems of sustainable innovation development for regions since 2000. He was the supervisor of more than 30 projects on this topic.

Mr. Gazi Erçel took his undergraduate degree from Ankara University’s Faculty of Political Science in 1967. He received a Masters Degree in International Economics from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, USA in 1976.
Mr Gazi Erçel started his career in 1967 as a Bank Examiner in the Ministry of Finance. During 1977-1982, he was the Deputy Director General of the Treasury in charge of Foreign Exchange, Banking Supervision, the World Bank and the Research Departments. Between1982-1986 he worked for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, as the Assistant to the Executive Director. In 1987-1989 he served as the Director General of the Turkish Treasury in charge of International Economic Development. He undertook several executive positions in private sector in Istanbul for 7 years during 1989-95. In 1996 Mr. Erçel was appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey where he served 5 years until 2001. In 2002 Mr. Erçel established a financial advisory firm, Ercel Global Advisory lectures at Aydin University.He also is a columnist in the daily newspaper “HaberTurk” and commentator at “Bloomberg HT” television.

Sergio Bertoli was born in Livorno in 1946. Sergio Bertoli achieved his degree in Electronic Engineering in 1971 at Pisa University. He began his carrier in Marconi Italiana in 1973 and worked there until 1977 as system engineer. 
From 1977 to 1984 was the responsible of the Italian Military Market of a private company which represented several foreign companies involved in high technology. In the 1980 was appointed as an executive of the company. From 1984 to 1989 he was the Chief Executive Officer of a private company which represented several foreign companies involved in high technology. From 1990 to 1995 he was the Commercial Director of Micrel, a company owned by SMA. In 1995 he reached the Finmeccanica Group as Commercial Director of the company Alelco. From 2001 to 2004 he worked in Galileo Spa in the “Strategic Marketing Division”. In 2003 He received by Finmeccanica the task of Area Manager for the country of Israel. From 2005 he is working in Finmeccanica as Area Manager of several countries in the Sales Department. 

In 1999 to 2001 she was the National coordinator of the First Inter-State Report on indicators testing of sustainable development for the Aral Sea basin, which was successfully presented by Kazakhstan at 9-th UN CSD (2001). In 2000-2002 she was a Member of the Working group of the preparation UNDP report (National Agenda -21), which was presented during the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg. In 2003-2010 she was National Coordinator of projects by support Government of Kazakhstan, including “Development Strategy for the formation of competitive clusters in natural-resource sector”, “Improving Governance and Strategic Planning in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “Environmental- economic problems in the mineral resources sector” and many international Projects by support ESCAP - “Problems of reducing poverty”; OSCE- “Consequences of WTO accession for Sustainable Development”; EU- “Formation of system of sustainable development indicators”; ECOSOC- «Achievement of MDGs in Kazakhstan”; UNESCAP - “National report on integrating of the “Green growth" principals in the strategic planning system”, etc.

From August 2004 to January 2009 she headed the department of analysis and strategy development, training and consulting, corporate development of JSC “Entrepreneurship Development Fund”. Since January 2009 she worked as general manager of the department of special programs, the Directorate on financial institutions and development institutes management JSC “Samruk-Kazyna”. 
She is married and has 3 children. From August 17, 2009 appointed as member of the Board of Entrepreneurship Development Fund. Since January15, 2011 she serves as an Acting Chairperson of theBoard.
