The World Bank is an international financial organization set up in the United States in 1945 to provide financial and technical assistance to developing countries. 188 states are currently members of the World Bank.

Addressing humanity’s global development needs, the World Bank lends to middle-income countries at interest rates that correspond to their respective market levels. Another one of the World Bank’s financial institutions, the IDA, lends to low-income countries at minimum or zero interest rates.

Within the framework of the AEF: Global Challenges Summit 2018, World Bank representatives will participate in the "World of a Unified Economy" track to discuss issues concerning state improvements to market mechanisms and increasing the efficiency of the global economic system.
