Krzysztof Zanussi

Film director, screenwriter and producer. Laureate of the main prize of the Venice Film Festival "Golden Lion"

Krzysztof Zanussi, a laureate of the Golden Lion prize of the film festival in Venice (for the movie A Year of the Quiet Sun), recipient of numerous international and national awards, is to speak at the Astana Economic Forum 2018. Since the early 1970s Krzysztof Zanussi has been one of the most prolific directors in Polish cinema, he's been making one to two movies per year, alternating between feature films for the big screen and TV films, which he generally tends to use as a kind of a testing ground for plots and ideas he's considering for big screen adaptations. In addition to his work in cineam and on TV Krzysztof Zanussi has directed a number of theater plays and operas in Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Russia, Belarus. Thus in 2008 he directed a the production of an O. Eskin play called the Duet at the Novosibirsk State Drama Theater Old House.
