URBAN RATINGS OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN KAZAKHSTAN
Share

For the first time in the history of mankind, more than half of the world's population lives in cities. By 2050, 70% of the forecasted population of 9 billion people will be living in cities.
Cities have an enormous potential to change the world for the better. Occupying only 3% of the planet's surface, these dynamic and complex organisms concentrate the world's best knowledge, resources and innovative ability. They also are home to millions of ambitious young people. The still-unsolved question is whether countries around the world will be able to exploit cities` potential on their way to sustainable development. To answer this question, the UNDP has conducted studies on the quality of life Kazakhstan`s cities and their housing services, and is now prepared to present and discuss the results during the forum.
