TRADE WARS AND RISING PROTECTIONISM. A DANGER FOR THE SYNCHRONIZED TO GLOBAL ECONOMIC RECOVERY
Share

The future of the banking sector is being questioned with the development of digital finance, and new forms of interaction are emerging in an era of rapid technological innovation that is changing fundamental aspects of economic growth, finance, trade and business.
These transformations are taking place at lightning speed calling into question the bases of growth and making us reconsider seven decades of the international liberal order – all against the backdrop of the risk of American withdrawal from the WTO and other international agreements and organizations, as well as the divergence of macroeconomic policies and the transition to more protectionist and nationalist policies.
The synchronous recovery of the world economy is subject to the risks of a new wave of protectionism, sanctions and trade barriers. Are we are moving on to a new chapter of trade wars, and could this be a signal and or symptom of entering into a cycle like the one that laid the foundation for the great recession?
