REBUILDING MULTILATERALISM IN A MULTIPOLAR WORLD
Share

The prospects for multilateralism in the world`s economic, trade and political relationships are entering a new era, but are currently in a "gloomy" phase. The world economy is facing the end of the seventy-year reign of the international liberal order. A transition is underway from the dominant liberal order on which the modern world economy was founded to a more populist, protectionist and nationalist paradigm. As one part of the world is moving towards anti-globalization, along with the US's withdrawal from the WTO agreements and other forms of international cooperation, a revival of the Great Silk Road may become the next chapter for globalization and hold the promise of promoting cooperation, investment, innovation, trade and the establishment of a long-term partnership between China, Eurasia and the EU.
How will developed and developing countries shape the global geopolitical landscape in the future, and what opportunities and risks do technological transformations present for humanity (including innovation, employment, inclusive growth and new technologies)?
