Kairat Kelimbetov, governor of an international financial center "Astana" is on a working visit to London. During the visit, K. Kelimbetov held working meetings with the heads of a number of British government agencies, investment companies and international financial institutions, among them - former Lord Mayor of the City of London Sir D.Wootton, as well as heads of large companies such as Innovate Finance, Clifford Chance, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Goldman Sachs, of UBS, Morgan Stanley and others, BNews.kz reports.
During the meeting K. Kelimbetov informed the British partners on the activities of the International "Astana" financial center, its goals and objectives, as well as the priority areas that the center will focus on. In particular, it was noted that MFTSA is a free financial zone with a special legal regime, based on the Anglo-Saxon system of law, and its activities will be based on the experience of the world's leading financial centers.
In turn, the leaders of the British business communities have expressed interest in cooperation with MFTSA in creating a regulatory framework based on the principles of English law, investment, asset management and capital, the establishment and development of international arbitration center, training of international specialists and others.
In addition, during a visit to London governor of MFTSA Kelimbetov met with several leaders of the British "think tanks" and the banking sector. In particular, meetings were held with the leadership of the Institute of Directors, the head of the company's Green Investment Bank, Britain's representative at EXPO 2017, the leadership of the London Stock Exchange and Bullion Market. The meeting resulted in an agreement with the British side on close cooperation.
